What is our Calvin's Fine Jewelry Warranty?

 We offer a limited one-year warranty on all jewelry sold at Calvin's Fine Jewelry. Any repair or replacement due to manufacturer or designer defect is covered free of charge. Stones that come loose will be checked and tightened free of charge if the piece is under normal wear and tear. Pieces that have been damaged due to heavy or excessive wear, and/or have not been brought in for scheduled maintenance, may be subject to a charge for repair.  We like to see our customers,and their jewelry!, at least four times a year. 

Cleaning, polishing, and checking are always free services at Calvin's, but rhodium flashing for white gold pieces is subject to a small charge to cover our costs.

 

        

 

 

Are your valuable jewelry items insured???

 

Did you know that it takes a ‘scheduled item’ on your homeowners’ insurance policy or separate insurance coverage to make sure that your valuables are covered?  Many people make the mistake of not having their jewelry insured correctly, and only find out that it is not covered after loss or theft.  You can have a separate company, such as Jewelers Mutual, insure your beautiful wedding set if you do not currently have a homeowners or renters policy.  Calvin’s Jewelry has an in-store Graduate Gemologist to update your appraisal, which should be done every two years.  It is especially important at this time, since the precious metals market has gone up 500% over the last two years, making most coverage amounts out-of-date.  Stop in or call for an appointment to make sure that your valuable and significant jewelry is covered for its full value.   

                                                            

Proposing with a Pet

We recently had a customer tell us he wanted to propose to his girlfriend with help from man’s best friend! He says their dog is just another member of the family and with some ribbon and a small pouch he hopes this will make the proposal more personal! Obviously, having a four-legged friend help out could turn out extremely well and it will make the proposal memorable, but this is going to take some planning! Here are some ideas on proposing with a pet:

1) Get a tuxedo outfit for the pet. She will love seeing him/her dressed up so cute and when she asks you, "why is ___  dressed in a tuxedo" you can tell her, "he/she wanted to look nice for this special occasion." Of course she will ask what the occasion is…

2) You could tie a ribbon onto the collar with a note that says "Will You Marry Me?"

3) Put the engagement ring around the pet’s collar and see how long it takes her to notice. We recommend keeping the pet indoors so that you won’t accidentally lose the ring!

4) Teach your pet bird to say “Will You Marry Me?”

5) If you don’t have a pet you can always go visit the local animal shelter and after you’ve picked your perfect pet have her attach the new leash which also has the engagement ring tied on it.

Amethyst: February's Birthstone
