In lieu of demure, minuscule chains, this season's jewelry trends appear to favor large, overstated, chunky necklaces with unique charms and frontispieces, according to several style experts. The question remains - is this fad for you?

On one hand, there's no better way to dress up a solid-colored or neutral summer dress than to add a bold piece of statement jewelry to your ensemble. Fashion enthusiasts everywhere will love the way their outfits come alive with just the simple addition of a set of colored diamond chains or a gilded floral collar.

On the other hand, some women may appear totally engulfed by such massive pieces and would essentially allow their jewelry to wear them, and not the other way around.

"Like any trend, I wouldn't necessarily jump on this fashion bandwagon if it just feels wrong on your frame,"
Rita Sirignano of the Calgary Herald advises. "Besides, delicate hasn't really gone away, it's just quieter so you don't notice it."
